Football with meaning (for a day, at least)!

Thanks to some random bounces and occurrences, the Bears face the Packers tonight with a chance to remain in playoff contention. It would be so Bears to receive all this good fortune and then blow it, but we’ll try to push that thought out of our heads until kickoff.

So be glued to the radio tonight for all the play-by-play, just so you’ll miss the obligatory TV shot of the drunken, stupid white guy(s) with their shirts off. They think they look tough, when they just look fat and weird.

We’ll preview the game today and digest the NFL weekend that was. Zach Zaidman reports on the Bears at 4:30 from frigid Solider Field. Zach’s sharp reporting itself could churn up chunks of sod.

Gerry DiNardo has a college football breakdown for us at 4:20.

Let’s appreciate today for what it is — a very unlikely game of significance on a national stage in week 16 of the NFL season. I never thought we’d be here. If you did, you’re the smart one.
