My question is, who's job is it to scout some of these pitchers that are making their "first major league start" or these pitchers that we've never faced before? Is it Walkers job to make some kind of a gameplan for these situations? Is it his job to get our guys prepared for what they may be facing? I've never seen a team crap themselves as much as us when we face a mediocre scrub who we've never seen before. And this has been an ongoing problem for the past few years, since Walkers been around.

Walker should've been long gone 2 years ago. On Saturday nite, I tuned in to watch the Sox explode on the Rangers. Facing a lefty with nearly a 7.00 ERA, and winning the 1st game in the series, I really thought the Sox could pound Texas for 3 wins and move on to KC with momentum. Instead I saw Paulie batting in the second inning, down 1-0 to the Rangers, but the tying run on second base. Ball 1... then a strike that splits the plate and Paulie looking at it.. next pitch, a foot outside but Paulie has already made up his mind to swing and he misses the pitch by a foot.. down 1-2, OK Paulie, anything close, guard the plate and put a level swing and line the ball to right.......AWWWW....he takes strike 3 right down the middle. There went my Saturday nite. Enough of this crap, I've been watching this junk for 2 1/2 years now. Futility, plain and simple. I can't understand this team, they see major leauge pitching day - in-and-day-out, all of them worked their way up from little leauge, high school, college, minors to the top of their profession and they continue to take pitches they should be swinging at and they swing at pitches they should be taking. Who;s fault.. Mr. Walker. Until they start getting very smart about the hitting zone, knowing what a strike is, they'll continue to be a sub par .500 team. Way to many strikeouts. Is it so hard to just swing to meet the ball, just putting the ball in play?? Is that too much to ask.. NOPE, everyone needs to swing for the fences, Just ask Brian Anderson, he swung so hard he pulled muscles in his rib cage.
This team needs a different approach to being aggressive at the plate, a new hitting coach that can teach them that. Walker can't. They desperately need a change. As Stubborn as Ozzie is, they gotta make that change. Also, Contreas and Colon,,,, we're pushing our luck, neither one will get past June, by then, season over.
