Guillen all but ‘giving up’ on team

SEATTLE – Ozzie has had enough.
Here is Guillen in the post-game of the 4-3 14th-inning heartbreak.
“I’m only going to say two things,’’ Guillen said. “I’m tired and I don’t have anything … it was two-and-a-half hours of satisfaction and then two-and-a-half hours of horse[bleep] baseball. Go an ask them. I don’t have any more quotes, seriously. What the [bleep] am I going to say? They horse[bleep]? Yes, they are.’’
Guillen then walked into the clubhouse and made it a point – a very loud one – to say that there would be a lot of lineup changes [for Friday’s game], and “If they give up on me, I give up on them.’’

Alex Rios and Jermaine Dye belong in single A ball. Maybe there they both may become reacquainted with hitting a baseball.

Yeah, I’m almost ready to give up too…
I was, at first, really excited about the Score’s ticket stash they are giving away for Peavy’s first start on Saturday.
That is, up until tonight’s game.
Don’t get me wrong, I totally “want” to go, and I totally “could” go if I won, but…
Does the score hand out parking passes with those tickets?
Because honestly, I don’t know if going to see the White Sox lose again at home is worth the 23.00 dollar Cell parking. Even if it IS Peavy’s first start.
But if the parking passes are included, then, yeah, it’s a totally different ballgame.
Literally.

I don’t think there are parking passes included for those who win tickets to see Jake Peavy debut tomorrow night vs. Kansas City. To me, there’s really no point in Jake making his first start considering where the White Sox are at in the A.L. Central standings except to fill those seats which I think will be filled anyway considering that it’s also a Fireworks Night at “The Cell”. I’m not so sure Peavy is fully healthy from the ankle & elbow problems that have delayed his debut by at least 2 weeks. I also feel that much like a certain outfielder whose initials are Alex Rio$, the Sox have a lot of $$$$ in both Rio$ and Peavy that they’ve now inherited & invested long term. To me, it’s not worth the risk starting Peavy when this 2009 season is shot. Also, based on Mt. Guillen’s latest eruption after a 4-3 loss in 14 innings at Seattle last night, the writing is on the wall and that there won’t be postseason baseball next month.

This team has QUIT…
QUIT on Ozzie…
QUIT on the owner and GM…
and
QUIT on themselves….
NO ONE should pay another dime to watch this team unless the ticket and parking is free or they are a fan of the other team. At least they’ll see a win.
Maybe Jerry can pay me 60 million to quit at my job. PATHETIC

Good Morning:
It’s been a bad couple of weeks for Derrick Rose. We have to talk about it.
Who else knew that Curtis Granderson was going to tie the game last night? But the Sox use fundamentals to come through and win.
Another Geoff Blum 1-run loss for the Cubs. Now the Cubs and Sox need each other [...]

Joe, I think Ozzie has had enough of all the lack of execution by his team and seems resigned to the fact that the 2009 Chicago White Sox will NOT be repeating as A.L. Central Champions. I also think that the shaky bullpen, including Bobby Jenks blowing the most saves of his career now, the lack of fundamental baseball and committing the most errors in Bud Selig’s Major League Baseball have taken their toll on Guillen. Needless to say, Ozzie can’t wait for this season to end and this 14-inning loss tonight in front of what appeared to be a half-empty Safeco Field to a Mariners’ team also playing out the string. To a certain extent, I feel sorry for you, Chris “The Ranger” Rongey, David Schuster, Mike Esposito, Brian “The Whipping Boy” Paruch, Laurence Holmes and any other SCORE guy reporting or having to cover this maddening ballclub.
