Wednesday on The Danny Mac Show

Five games all it took for the Bears to see Jay Cutler is their guy… Mac and Spiegel give their thoughts on the 2 year $30 million dollar extension… Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk dot com jumps on at 10 with his take… We’ll also talk baseball and the umpiring gaffes in game 4 of the ALCS last night… and Pat Foley joins us for Hawks chatter as they get set to host the Canucks… Plus we’ll qualify our final Who Do You Love-r, and give away a copy of Mac’s new book.

I say kudos to Chris Chelios! I hope he has great success with the Wolves but even if he doesn’t it won’t tarnish his career in my mind. I have a lot of respect for Cheli… even when he was the biggest cheap shot in the league in Montreal.

Van Morrison should be so proud with the new “Florio” jingle for ProFootballTalk.com’s Mike Florio, guys. Meanwhile, just because the Bears & Bengals kickoff at 3:15p instead of 12Noon Sunday doesn’t mean FOX Sports is sending its #1 announce team to Cincinnati. Awfulannouncing.com says Sam Rosen & Tim Ryan will work Sunday’s late afternoon start at Paul Brown Stadium for FOX. It’s unclear if Laura Okmin, now with FOX Sports Net, will be on the sidelines. Yes, guys, the same Laura who used to work on the old “SportsChannel Report” and CNN/Sports Illustrated who put Jillian Reynolds to shame when she worked 2 Bear games on the sidelines! Meanwhile, Thom Brennaman, Troy Aikman & Pam Oliver head to Arlington, TX to call the Falcons/Cowboys’ game at the same time the Bears & Bengals do. Thom, of course, is pinch hitting for Joe Buck on ALCS & World Series duty for the network. Speaking of the World Series, do you realize the “Fall Classic” starts one week from tonight, likely in The Bronx? You’ve got to be kidding me!

WYC is Back!

After missing a week due to Sox baseball, our signature segment returns at 5:00 this afternoon.  Make sure to join us for the (usually) weekly comeuppance for hypocrisy and lies.
Speaking of which, this is from the Daily Herald on January 29th, after the Cubs signed outfielder Xavier Nady:  “The Cubs insist Nady will be ready [...]
