David Schuster Reports…

The chances of Derrick Rose playing later tonight are probably less then 50/50. And why should he play? Just to satisfy his thirst for seeing a few minutes of game action prior to the start of the regular season? That’s ridiculous. Why would a franchise take a risk with it’s franchise player for a game that means less then nothing.

Yes, Rose has missed the last two weeks with his injured foot and dearly wants to get back on the court but he’ll get his chance soon enough when the games really count. Following a day off on Saturday, the Bulls will have four straight days of practice and Rose can quickly whip himself into game shape.

It’s sort of funny that Rose wants to play later tonight since most players dread pre-season games but Rose is a different animal in the fact (like Michael Jordan) he always wants to compete and win. But thankfully the decisions regarding his playing time are being made by the medical staff and they know better.

Besides, it wasn’t all doom and gloom for Rose on Thursday. He may have already known that his attempts to play later tonight were pretty much null and void, but, he did have a photo shoot with super model, Marisa Miller and I would call that a pretty good consolation prize.

Schu, I know Bulls’ fans are frustrated, and the feeling is mutual with Derrick Rose continuing to sit out with the ankle injury. If there’s anytime #1 in white & red should be sitting out, now is the time during the preseason. If Derrick’s not available to play when they start counting FOR REAL Thursday night vs. Tony Parker, Tim Duncan and the Spurs on the Bulls’ favorite cable channel TNT, then you start being more concerned. Also, I can easily see the Bulls starting the regular season 0-3 with San Antonio & roadies in Boston & Miami to start next weekend. Finally, I couldn’t agree with you more about the Marisa Miller sighting at the Berto Center literally making D. Rose feel that much better.

David, why do you always speak in cliches? Haven’t you worked long enough in radio to know this is a major no-no?
