Flu or blue flu for Tyrus Thomas?

Flu or blue flu for Tyrus Thomas? We’ll find out shortly but for now the Bulls are saying that Thomas was sent home from shoot around because he was experiencing flu like symptoms. The Bulls say that they expect Thomas to show up for tonight’s game vs. Milwaukee and a further determination would be made on his availability.

If you’re a bit skeptical on this news join the crowd. It’s easy to be skeptical because of recent developments. The facts are that Thomas has seen his playing time greatly diminished (especially in 4th quarters) and he didn’t get a hopeful contract extension prior to Monday’s deadline. He also, reportedly, had words with his coach Vinnie Del Negro during the team’s film session on Monday.

What’s also a fact is that one of the team captains, Lindsey Hunter, at the end of Monday’s practice got the team together and instructed his teammates to listen to Del Negro. It sure looked like Hunter’s directive was aimed at Thomas. Normally the media is not able to hear what the banter is between the team when they gather at the end of practice but on this day the voices were all raised an octave and it was hard not to notice.

So stay tuned and we’ll find out if Thomas shows up tonight and whether he’s really sick, or not.

It’s plain to see that the Bulls want to move this guy or else they would have given him the extension.

Shocking. And he wonders why he didn’t get his extension. Draft children, get tantrums. Way to do your homework on a bum no one has ever been able to coach.

I see Thomas being the next Ben Gordon. Bulls never really gave Gordon a chance to be the man, always wanted him to differ to Kirk or Luol whick lead to a void of leadership. You never on other teams see the leading scorer not be the leader in the locker room. Thomas will never grow on the Bulls because the leash will never be long enough for him to grow through trial an error. He easily is the most athletic bull and is also on of the youngest. It’ll be a shame that we’ll get to see him blossom on a different team.

T squared is a square. No one should be surprised by this. Noah has grown up quicker than he has. Who would’ve thought? You are not that good Tyrus. And hasn’t he blown off practice before? Trade him for a bag of balls and be done with it.

Tyrus has improved each year. Who else has done that? Maybe Noah. Hinrich and Deng haven’t gotten any better in the past 2 seasons. Jannero Pargo will always be a streaky dwarf and Salmons hasn’t shown anything yet. Maybe Tyrus is a head-case, but he seems dedicated to becoming a skilled player and it is a shame he will end up succeeding in a more competent organization.

When you do right, good things will come to you. These pass few years he has been lazy and inconsistant. Maybe if u stay outta the clubs and keep ur head in the game u wouldve got that extension TYRUS….oh well ON TO THE NEXT ONE!!

It is really sad that a team meeting has to be called so that a “listen to the coach’ can be shouted out.

After watching VDN for over a year I can imagine why players would tune him out. Oh well, he was a cheap hire and I think fans can see why he was so cheap.

There are two major issues going on here.

First off, there is obviously a rift going on between Tyrus and Vinny. Tyrus must be upset that the Bulls did not even offer him a decent contract.

But what’s funny is, Tyrus may end up getting a decent offer from the Bulls because his absence has showed how much they actually need him! Taj Gibson has no business starting an NBA game. So until the Bulls can at least find a credible replacement, Tyrus has to start and get significant minutes.
