The goalie debate with the Blackhawks is sure to heat up as the Hawks fell to Senators 4-1, Huet let in 4 of 18 shots faced. Is this all about $$$? Goals against is indication of the defensive unit not just the goalie. The Hawks defensive unit looks tired and are making bad decisions and turnovers that are leading to prime scoring chances. Viewers need to watch what leads to goals to determine if a goalie is struggling. Niemi is certainly the Hawks future and possibly even what carries them this year, but he needs to be brought into it slowly. For a goalie it’s all about confidence, and it is obvious Huet’s isn’t very high right now.
