I didn’t comprehend the “career toadstool” line from Mr. Axe to Grind in the Sun-Times.
Say what?

Great trivia question about Bulldog Turner. As a footnote: Bears Defensive End Ed Sprinkle also attended Harden-Simmons College. It is/was a teachers school.

Checked the NFL HoF Selection Committee. Realize that every team must be represented, the at large reflects veteran wisdom in sportswriting. That group stands a better chance of sending up the right color smoke to announce a new pope instead of sending to the steps at Canton the new members of that Hall truly deserving of a career award.

hopefully nothing truly funny is said on this show for the health sake of these guys. They would blow a blood vessel.

Mac & Spiegs…
I have this feeling that when the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2010 is announced tomorrow, I have a bad feeling that the Bears’ Richard Dent will once again be disappointed to learn that he doesn’t make the cut for induction. I’ve heard the name Charles Haley on a couple of occasions, and #94 with the 49ers & Cowboys in the ’90s was quite the defensive presence earning 5 Super Bowl rings. In addition to no-brainers Jerry Rice & Emmitt Smith getting inducted, I have this feeling Haley gets in as well.

As for the Super Bowl itself, I think the scoreboard at newly named SunLife Stadium in Miami will be getting quite a workout Sunday night. I feel this is a pretty even matchup and I will not be surprised to see plenty of offense in a very close game. In the end, while Peyton Manning and the Colts hoist the Lombardi Trophy for the second time, Drew Brees and the Saints will make Indianapolis earn it. I think the Colts win a high-scoring affair 41-38. In short, SHARK’s taking the over & New Orleans with the 5 points or so.

Hey Mac…How about The Who playing “Pictures of Lily” at the Super Bowl halftime show?
It’s about one of your favorite subjects after all! And just imagine the “wardrobe malfunctions”
there could be during that song? Love the show, South Side Ricky
